BE THE CHANGE with LVIM
View our Open Volunteer Positions
Volunteers are very important at Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine – in fact they are our greatest asset! Since LVIM opened its doors in February, 2001, we have enrolled over 30,806 patients in 547,742 patient visits, filled over 468,216 prescriptions and performed over 26,034 radiology exams. Over 5,653 volunteers and 570 doctors, dentists and ARNP’s have donated their time.
But as you can see with this large volume of patients, it takes skilled people of all backgrounds and professions to make everything run properly. You don’t have to have a medical background to volunteer, as there are many other opportunities to serve the uninsured of Polk County and give the gift of good health to LVIM’s patients.

Annabelle Fisackerly tops our active volunteer service hours
HOURS OF SERVICE
Yes, you read that correctly: OVER THIRTEEN THOUSAND volunteer hours!
Not too far behind is Annabelle’s husband, Bill Fisackerly, with 8,987 volunteer hours.
Although Bill and Annabelle were forced to retire in 2020, due to the COVID-19 restrictions and some health concerns, Annabelle still holds the LVIM record of the most volunteer hours.
Annabelle volunteered as an office assistant and Bill as an intake screener. Both had been with us since opening our doors in 2001.
Thank you, Bill and Annabelle.
We love, miss and appreciate you!
