April 2026 Volunteer of the Month

Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine is proud to recognize Jazmin Salmeron Morales as our April Volunteer of the Month. Through her hard work, kindness, and willingness to learn, Jazmin has become an important part of the LVIM volunteer family and a great support to both patients and staff in our dental clinic.

Jazmin first heard about LVIM while attending Florida Southern College as an undergraduate student. She has always enjoyed helping others and knew she wanted a future in dentistry. While her schedule did not allow her to volunteer during college, she later joined LVIM while working on her master’s degree and quickly found a place where she could combine both of her passions.

For Jazmin, the most rewarding part of volunteering is working with patients and helping them understand their treatment plans. Because she speaks Spanish, she is often able to help patients communicate with the dental team and feel more comfortable during their visits. She especially enjoys seeing patients return for multiple appointments and become more confident and relaxed over time.

Jazmin originally started volunteering in sterilization, but she was eager to learn more. Since she plans to attend dental school, she asked to learn how to assist in the clinic. The dental team welcomed her curiosity and taught her how to set up rooms, assist our dentist during procedures, and better understand patient care.

When asked to describe her experience at LVIM in one word, Jazmin chose “fulfilling.” She shared that being able to help people while learning more about dentistry has made her time at LVIM very meaningful.

Whether she is helping patients, supporting the dental team, or learning new skills, Jazmin brings kindness, positivity, and dedication to every shift. Her commitment reflects the heart of LVIM and the powerful difference volunteers make in our community.

Congratulations, Jazmin, and thank you for the difference you continue to make at LVIM!
